Tommy Haas annuncia il ritiro: “Il tennis mi ha dato vittorie e Federer come amico”

Tommy Haas si ritira ufficialmente dal circuito ATP. Il tennista tedesco, in passato anche numero due del ranking, si è congedato dal mondo del tennis con un post su Instagram in cui ha ringraziato tutti quanti lo hanno accompagnato nell’avventura sportiva, rivolgendosi ai propri fan: “Sono onorato di aver realizzato quello che ho sempre voluto: essere un giocatore di tennis professionista. Ho ricevuto tanto dal tennis, grandi amicizie ed incredibili ricordi, ma soprattutto mi ha insegnato come affrontare e superare le sfide della vita“.

Un pensiero speciale va anche al grande amico Roger Federer: “Ringrazio tutti gli allenatori, fisioterapisti e dottori che mi hanno accompagnato durante la carriera. Ringrazio i miei genitori e mia sorella per il supporto datomi nel corso degli anni. Un grazie speciale va al mio grande amico Roger Federer per aver condiviso tutto questo insieme“.

To my fans all around the world. Last night i officially announced my retirement from the @atpworldtour . I have been so very blessed to do what i always wanted to and that was to play tennis professionally. It has given me incredible friendships and amazing memories and it thought me so much about what it means to face challenges and to try and overcome them. I wanna thank all my coaches, physio’s and doctor’s etc. that have been there for me along this journey. To my parents my sister’s thanks for your support that you gave me over the years. To my family, Vivi and Josie, you mean more to me than anything else in the world. Thanks to all of you again for supporting and cheering me on over the years throughout my career. And of course to my good friend @rogerfederer , thanks for sharing this moment with me. #haasome
